Train for Life - Not Just Looks!

For adults 40+ who want to stay strong, mobile, and capable enough to fully enjoy life — travel, hobbies, sports, work, and the moments that actually matter.

Most fitness programs train muscles. We train your body to support your life. Strong for Life is a personalized coaching system built for life after 40.

Why Most Fitness Stops Working After 40

For years, the fitness industry has trained people as if the body were a collection of parts. Chest. Legs. Core...

But your body doesn’t live or move that way.

It moves as an integrated system — coordinating strength, mobility, balance, breathing, and endurance every time you walk, lift, run, or play a sport.

After 40, that disconnect starts to show.

You might be:

  • working out consistently but feeling stiffer

  • getting stronger yet dealing with nagging aches

  • active, but less confident in certain movements

  • “doing all the right things” and still plateauing

That’s not a discipline problem. It’s a design problem.

Strong for Life was built to train the body the way life actually demands — whole, adaptable, and resilient.

Most programs chase performance for today. We train for capability that lasts decades.

The Cost of Doing Nothing

Doing nothing doesn’t usually look dramatic. It looks like getting by.

For some people, that means not training at all — because past injuries, time constraints, or uncertainty make it easier to avoid starting than to risk doing the wrong thing.

For others, it means staying busy with workouts that don’t really move the needle — staying active, but slowly losing confidence, mobility, or resilience.

Either way, the result is similar. Over time, you may:

Trust your body less

Avoid certain movements, sports, or trips

Plan life around what might hurt later

Accept limitations that didn’t exist a few years ago

Not because you’re lazy. Not because you don’t care.

But because no one ever showed you how to train for the long game.

Strong for Life exists to change that trajectory — before “later” quietly becomes “too late.”

A Smarter Way to Train — Built for Real Life

Strong for Life isn’t a collection of workouts.

It’s a movement-first system built around how your body actually works — and how your life actually looks after 40.

Instead of chasing intensity or aesthetics, the method focuses on long-term capability:

strength that carries over to daily life and sports

mobility that supports movement instead of fighting it

conditioning that improves energy, not burnout

recovery that helps you bounce back, not break down

Every decision in the system answers one question:

“Will this help you live better — not just train harder?”

That’s why Strong for Life adapts to you:

your movement limitations

your goals

your schedule

your lifestyle (home, travel, busy weeks included)

No extremes.
No random programming.
No wasted effort.

Just a clear, sustainable path to staying strong, mobile, and capable for decades.

What This Looks Like In Real Life

What You’ll Experience Inside Strong for Life

These aren’t phases you “graduate from.”
They’re capabilities you continue to strengthen over time.

Move Well

Before we add intensity, we first understand how your body actually moves.

Strong for Life starts with a simple movement screen to identify restrictions, asymmetries, and compensation patterns that most programs ignore.

That screen becomes the filter for everything that follows — so mobility work is targeted, strength work makes sense, and progress doesn’t come at the expense of your joints.

When you move well first, everything else works better

Build Real Strength

Strength isn’t about maxing out — it’s about control.

Strong for Life builds strength that transfers:

- to sports

- to daily movement

- to confidence in your body

Not just muscles that look strong — a body that performs when it matters.

Stay Resilient

Longevity isn’t just about what you can do today — it’s about how well you recover.

We prioritize:

- joint health

- connective tissue resilience

- aerobic capacity and recovery

So your body bounces back faster and stays reliable longer.

Live Capably

The goal isn’t training for training’s sake.

It’s having a body that supports:

- travel

- sports and hobbies

- demanding workdays

- meaningful experiences

This is what training for life actually looks like.

These capabilities are trained together —
and adapted to your body, your goals, and your life.

Meet Stephan

Hi, I’m Stephan Alheim, founder of TA4 Fitness.

After losing my father suddenly to a heart attack, it forced a hard reset for me. I realized I wanted the rest of my life to be meaningful — and to do work I genuinely cared about.

That moment is what led me to change careers and build Strong for Life. Not out of fear — but out of purpose.

Today, I help adults 40+ build strong, capable bodies they can trust, so they can stay active, travel, play sports, work hard, and fully enjoy the lives they’re building.

My coaching isn’t about chasing looks or extremes.
It’s about training in a way that actually supports your life — now and for decades to come.

When I’m not coaching, I’m usually doing the same things I encourage my clients to do — staying active, traveling, and living the life this approach is meant to support.

The goal isn’t just to get fit.
It’s to stay fit for life.

I have now been training with TA4 for over two years. I am only more impressed with him as time has gone on. His workouts are challenging- rarely do you work on "just" one muscle in an exercise- and I know what when he says i will "really like" something that it will be particularly challenging. Yet, he continues to program me new exercises, is always encouraging and patient, and genuinely engaged in my progress. His mixing of mobility, breathing, strength and nutrition is a winning combination and I have seen significant improvement in my own progress as a result. I continue to highly recommend him for anyone seeking a wonderful trainer.

Working with Stephan and his TA4 System has been a life changer. That may sound like an overstatement but it is not. I was feeling really discouraged by how stiff and old I was feeling at at age 53. As a former D1 college athlete, feeling the physical decline of my body was depressing. Since being on Stephans program I am no longer stiff when I wake up. I feel stronger and my balance and overall feelings of well-being has been a complete 180. Stephen is so knowledgeable and I appreciate that he focusses on things like "wrist and ankle health."

His program has made a dramatic change in my life and I seriously wish all people could benefit from his coaching. As a busy executive, it is easy to disregard your physical health but with Stephan's program you can both work hard professionally and work and on your overall physical well-being. Don't wait if you have considered working with Stephen, he is top notch!

I feel so much better, healthier, and more energized since I began working out with him. I highly, repeat, highly recommend TA4 unreservedly.
